In this episode of Chord of the Month, I show you how to play a gorgeous major 13 voicing.

This particular voicing is great for straight-ahead jazz and modern genres such as Neo-soul and R&B.

It's a 5 note voicing, so is fairly easy to remember. It consists of the chord tones 1-5-13-7-3.

To practice it properly, I recommend learning it in a few keys (all 12 if possible). Then mess around with it and try incorporating it into a jazz standard or neo-soul progression.
